Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies (AIATSIS)
The Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies (AIATSIS) is Australia's only national institution focused exclusively on the diverse history, cultures and heritage of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australia.
AISTSIS's mission is to:
- To tell the story of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australia.
- Create opportunities for people to encounter, engage with and be transformed by that story.
- Support and facilitate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural resurgence.
- Shape our national narrative.
NAIDOC Week
National NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia in the first week of July each year (Sunday to Sunday), to celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC Week is an opportunity for all Australians to learn about First Nations cultures and histories and participate in celebrations of the oldest, continuous living cultures on earth.

The Torres Strait Regional Authority (TSRA)
The purpose of The Torres Strait Regional Authority (TSRA) is to progress towards closing the gap for Torres Strait Islander and Aboriginal people living in the Torres Strait Region through development planning, coordination, sustainable resource management and preservation and promotion of Indigenous culture.
