Australian passport application for Australians visiting or residing in Tunisia
How to apply
Whether you are renewing your passport or applying for the first time, you will need to complete an application form and submit it in person at our office in Malta together with the required documents.
You should allow approximately three weeks to receive your new passport at our office in Malta.
If you are not in Malta at this time, the passport can be sent by courier from Malta to the Canadian Embassy in Tunis where you will be able to collect it in person. It takes between 3 to 6 days for the passport to be delivered.
Alternatively, you may want to lodge your application at another Australian Embassy abroad. Kindly contact them to check their procedure.

If you have a printer, you can download and print the form from the Australian passport office website. You will need to create an account first.

Your application must be lodged in person
* 0- 15 years old :
They are not required to attend the interview. One parent must lodge the application in person.
* 16 and 17 years old:
They must attend the interview, together with one parent.
Australian Passport fees
Passport applications lodged in Malta are to be paid in Euros.
Passport fees are subject to change each month due to exchange rate fluctuations, check current fees here.
Should you want the passport to be sent by courier to Tunis, kindly contact us to know the fee.
Please note that we only accept payments by debit or credit card or bank transfer.
Lost and stolen passports
Should your passport be lost or stolen, please report the loss or theft of your passport as soon as possible by contacting us. Depending on your circumstances you can also apply for an emergency or a new passport.
- You will need to obtain a police report from any police station in Tunsia
- Both parent’s consent will be required prior to the issue of an emergency passport to a child.
- It is the responsibility of the holder to ensure the emergency travel document is suitable for entry, transit and exit for any ongoing travel including visa requirements
